AVG is driving me MAD!
I am still dealing with this issue. It all looks kosher sitting in the system tray with no BAMS! and no greyed-out but when you right click and try to open it you realize it is an empty shell and complete tech nekkidness. I've Googled. I've screamed. I've saved the install file because well, I werk it out. Total uninstall/reinstall X3 & more info in the shoutouts except I mention the reboot kills it.. but it came back about 30 mins ago all on its own. Makes ya wanna shake a bitch.

Dust is your PCs worst enemy because it makes it run hotter. Heat damages the components you are obliviously dependent upon. I am a bad geek because I love the incense which creates smoke which creates excessive dust. I make a schedule to dust out my PCs every 8 weeks and it is a light job because I never let it get out of hand. This task preserves the life of my PC's.

My susans. My black-eyed Susans. Still trying to figure out why I feel tied to the abused faces of susan. Why these flowers make me smile after being abused verbally for 8 hours a day. Trying to understand why I choose these flowers in the heat of Georgia that need more water than I can afford to pay for. Why these susans remind me of something I think I have forgotten. I've never had a black-eye but I will never forget the window he put me through. Sheer rage and I find myself defending the ipod. Ashamed to say. He wanted to buy me one but I said no and now he says all of a sudden ipods are okay with me. Stop whining like a girl. I say it is free and I and I am kinda earning it via work. He does not understand. It is SIGNED. It is just the coolest thing ever lately and I keep it close.

I am having so much fun with my iPod! I used the facilities at work and watched Cranky Geeks at the same time. My known-til-now world twisted into a beautiful realm where tech is never farther away than a click and spin. Hate the headphones but I use them because they were his. Osmosis. An open letter of apology
There are a handful of people that I offer tech support to that have recently been sent my PayPal link after years of free support. I am not trying to be rude, I am just trying to say HEY you struggle with situations and I hit you back with working solutions ususally within 24 hours or less
And I struggle to keep milk in the fridge, Yo.
ALL of my requests were honored (which was a blessing)
But there was ONE that struggled. I do NOT want to alienate him.

I just realized I never replied to his last email that stated

Due to a sickness that I apparently "asked-for" I have been offline since Sunday because quite frankly, physically ability is the only thing that will keep me away.
All other scenarios have been tested (ahem) but I digress.
So imagine my delight in finally facing my monitor only to spend 30 minutes working on AVG again. I might not have noticed were I not so anal. The system try icon appeared normal (no bang!) but when I right clicked you can see that "exit" was the only option. The rest were greyed out.
Pulling up AVG interface through programs proved I was completely nekkid!
AHHHHHHH! In Windows no less.
Linux nekkidness, however, is accepted and flaunted.
I am not sure if this was due to my fix in my last post after Grisoft fixed the "issue" cause that was the only out-of-the-ordinary thing I've ever done with AVG and this is the fist time I have ever seen this nightmare.
Bottom line:
Double check your AVG. Make sure it is there.
I did a reinstall and all is good.

I recently helped my mother through a breast cancer scare. It also was caught early, never reached her lymph nodes. She went through both Chemo and radiation.
I was honored to be there to shave her head.
She understood it was going to fall out and I had the Wahls n all..
But hearing about Christina and her choice. I was blown away by both her honesty and her radical approach to her version of a "final" cure.

This MAY BE saying too much about me but I just watched all 11 parts to the Actors Studio Interview of Barbra and they skipped right over Main Event.
This was the first song I accepted as cool in my youth before I realized I was named after Barbra, so it was a genuine acceptance. I LOVED the movie and I recently found the song somehow, somewhere and it has been making the rotation in the playlist with my eyes smiling every time it rounded my way.

AVG is aware of the problem and they are working on a fix.
You are still being protected!
For now here is a way to get rid of the error message:
1 - Start up AVG,click Update Now.
2 - The list of updates is shown in Popup
click on the more information link.
A list of updates will be shown.
3 - Click on and save all updates in a file except the last one
update: u7iavi1616oo.bin
because this is causing the problem.
4 - Cancel the update and instead click on
Tools > Update from Directory and go to the file
where you saved the updates.
Install these and AVG should be working properly again.

FUBAR = Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition
I wish I had sense enough to turn on the webcam last night. Even though I did not have "internets" it would have taken running stills and banked them in the HD for later viewing because watching me attempt magic sprinkles to make it happen would have been epic. Audio would have been over the top.
After serious contemplating, I'm still not sure what went wrong. I just know that at the stroke of midnight last night my lifeline was cut and I was 0/3.
Fortunately, morning solved the issue.

The very first issue that Steve discusses in this video
is EXACTLY what I experienced with one of my clients.
Mike can attest to this because I called him on site
when the shit went FUBAR.
He tells me I am never alone. TY MIKE!
Windows would load just until the desktop was ready to load
then either shut down or after I made the setting to NOT restart at error
... give me the BSOD with a memory error.
MemTest revealed no issues.
This may sound sick & twisted
But I am glad to see a guy like Steve struggle with this issue.
Quite honestly, this was the only issue I had with a client
that I almost cried on site
I thought to myself
"Ahhh.. THIS is why girls are not good techs."
Told the client I needed to walk away for a minute and think.
Right out the front door I went to yell at the sky.
.... cause I had tried everything at this point.
But I knew enough to walk away.
Thankfully she was impatient and well-off.
Her solution was to buy a new machine.
So we did.

One of my favorite songs of all time and Fargenbastich (Rick) made me smile with this random cover. He takes a capo to the 5th fret for uke sound but even though he is right there in front of the cam he is about 6 steps away from real as he used to appear last year. Not sure what is up with him. I hate the new mic (prev mentioned) because it does not blend with his instrument and I want him to go back to the musician poster he was before but how do you explain WHY TO RETRO when he thinks he is progressing? Mostly I am just thankful. He did one of my favorites songs and therefore, I cannot find the justification in bitching about the small stuff.

In Linux, I miss my Noodle skin.
But more than missing Noodle I miss being able to right click my music folder and have a player shuffle through. Serious. I can not do this in Linux for some reason. I am sure I will eventually find a way how but it is so sweetly default in Windows and I am taking full advantage these past two days of posting to the blog in streaming shuffle of worthy songs found, stolen, given and saved for general practice because I knew it would be a randomness I would want to hear while in the zone.
