At about 10 minutes in, you will hear my call to Steve about his lack of proper data recovery.
On a very important hard drive

I was SO mad at him because he never mentioned what he tried. He just mentioned he grabbed spinrite (do not ask me to link it-ever) and thought he would give it a try. When that did not work, he put it in a freezer? All techs have heard of the freezer trick and sometimes when you have tried everything else, you almost consider it, except you remember the probability of condensation and what that water will do to a drive.  Steve’s rebuttal was almost good. Except he was still taking offers for solutions on a dead drive that spent quality time in a freezer. It is def now toast and I obvs did not get there in time.
Citizen X shakes her head and bats her eyelashes at the crazy Italian.

So welcome me back? I’ve missed you!
The internet has become a highly traded commodity in our neighborhood because since Nov 4 it has been non existent and I have been losing my mind. But let me tell you what I have learned from the experience:

1. Your 2g USB thumb drive will hold a lot of webpages by simply chosing FILE/SAVEAS/HTMLWEBPAGE COMPLETE, but it is not the same.
2. It will also hold several tech podcasts and video casts.
4. You can still update wikis and show notes because you believe in NO EXCUSES.
5. You can still rant to your fav tech podcaster via cellphone through a skype out number.
5. You learn to look fwd to the Next Tech Job because you can slide a bit of internet your way.
6. When you come home and find internet 5 days ahead of schedule, you do NOT scream.

but he was waiting for me
and he and I were like
peas and carrots for a straight
90 minutes and I was energized
exhaling all that oxygen
will do a daughter good.

He gets me and I get him and we have
learned to appreciate one another.
HE is also waiting to see…
